Privacy Statement

The Honeywell Sensing and Safety Technologies Sample Portal is operated by Mouser Electronics on behalf of Honeywell International Inc, its subsidiaries and affiliates worldwide (“Honeywell”). Honeywell is the controller of your personal information relating to the product ordered, SFDC ID for your NBO, customer name, your name and shipping details.

It is important that you read this notice together with any other privacy statements we may provide to you on specific occasions when we are collecting or processing your personal information so that you are fully aware of how and why we are using your information (for example, the privacy notice provided to you when we process your information for employment purposes or the use of our websites). When using the SST Samples Portal, Mouser Electronics will collect certain personal information [e.g. your IP address, cookie related information and usage data] for their own purposes to perform, maintain and improve its services. To the extent that Mouser Electronics is the data controller, Mouser Electronics Privacy Notice applies.

What this policy covers

The data controller is Honeywell. We (referred to in this policy as “we” or “us”), a 3rd party performing services on behalf of Honeywell, is the data processor.

We are committed to doing the right thing when it comes to how we collect, use and protect information that identifies or is associated with you as a natural person (“personal data”). This is why we have developed this privacy and cookie policy (“policy”), which:

  • Outlines the types of personal data that we collect;
  • Explains how and why we collect and use your personal data;
  • Explains when and why we will share personal data internally and with other organizations (suppliers and manufacturers); and
  • Explains the rights and choices you have when it comes to your personal data.

We offer a wide range of products and services, so we want you to be clear about what this policy covers. This policy applies to this website, when you shop with us over the phone and if you contact us or we contact you (collectively, our “services”).


Personal data we collect

This section describes the personal data we may collect from you when you use our services and what other personal data we may receive from other sources.

Data you provide to us directly.

When you register to use our services or purchase products, you provide us with the following:

  • Your name, profile information, shipping address and billing addresses, payment information, email address, phone numbers, and business name (where applicable).
  • If you create an account, you are prompted to create a username and a password. We maintain your username and password (in an encrypted format) inside our secure environment and only use your information to welcome you back upon your return and personalize your experience. In addition, we store shipping and billing addresses for use with future purchases.
  • Information about your online purchase (for example, what you bought and when and how you paid for it).

When you contact us or we contact you, we may collect the following information:

  • Personal data you provide anytime you contact us.(for example, your name and contact details), including phone, email;
  • Details of the emails and other digital communications we send to you, including any links in them that you access and whether you have opened the communications;
  • Email headers, source IP Information, sending email server hostnames and ISP information.
  • Your feedback and contributions to customer surveys and questionnaires.

You are free to choose which information you want to provide to us or whether you want to provide us with information at all. However, some information, such as your name, address, payment information and information we have is necessary for the performance of our contractual obligations.

When purchasing products, you should know:

  • We do not keep credit card numbers. Your credit card information is tokenized the first time it is processed. Should you elect to save a credit card to your account for future use, only the encrypted token is stored and used to charge your credit card account.
  • We deploy technologies that detect and remove Credit Card information sent through unapproved channels (email and fax).

Cookies and other tracking technology

We automatically collect certain types of usage information when you visit our website, read our emails, or otherwise engage with us. We typically collect this information through a variety of tracking technologies, including cookies, web beacons, embedded scripts, location-identifying technologies, file information, and similar technology (collectively, “tracking technologies”).

We use or may use the data collected through tracking technologies to:

  • Remember information so that you will not have to re-enter it during your visit or the next time you visit the site;

** Please note that doing so may negatively impact your experience using our website, as some features and services on our website may not work properly. Depending on your mobile device and operating system, you may not be able to delete or block all cookies. You may also set your email options to prevent the automatic downloading of images that may contain technologies that would allow us to know whether you have accessed our email and performed certain functions with it.


How your Personal Information is used

We may share your personal data in the instances described below:

  1. Third-party vendors and other service providers that perform services on our behalf, as needed to carry out their work for us, which may include providing mailing services, providing tax and accounting services, web hosting, or providing analytic services.
  2. If you order products or services with us, we may share this information about you and your order with the data controller, who may contact you to inquire about the use of your order and offer further assistance with your project.
  3. We may share personal data with law enforcement, regulators and other parties for legal reasons, such as in cases where required by law or subpoena. We may reasonably believe that such action is necessary to (a) comply with the law and the reasonable requests of law enforcement; (b) to enforce our legal claims or to protect the security or integrity of our Services; and/or (c) to exercise or protect the rights, property, or personal safety of personnel, our visitors, or others.
  4. Other parties in connection with the (actual or potential) sale, purchase, acquisition, merger, reorganization, bankruptcy, liquidation, dissolution, or similar transaction or proceeding of or involving the data controller and or process.
  5. To address revolving technical issues.
  6. We may disclose sales data to suppliers and manufacturers for product demand, product purchase trends, and payment of commission to the manufacturer's sales force. This may include information disclosed to manufacturers in support of product warranty, safety notifications and or product support.

Your data privacy rights

If you are a resident in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights in respect to your personal information that we hold:

  • A Right of access. The right to obtain access to your personal information.
  • A Right to rectification. The right to obtain rectification of your personal information without undue delay where that personal information is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • A Right to erasure. The right to obtain the erasure of your personal information without undue delay in certain circumstances, such as where the personal information is no longer necessary in relation to the purposes for which it was collected or processed.
  • A Right to restriction. The right to obtain restriction of the processing undertaken by us on your personal information in certain circumstances, such as, where the accuracy of the personal information is contested by you, for a period of time enabling us to verify the accuracy of that personal information.
  • A Right to portability. The right to portability allows you to move copy or transfer personal information easily from one organization to another.
  • A Right to object. You have a right to object to any processing based on our legitimate interests where there are grounds relating to your particular situation. You can object to marketing activities for any reason.

As we are a data processor, should you wish to exercise any of your rights, you must contact the data controller. Please refer to the “How to contact us” section below for details.


Retention and protection of your data

We care about the security of your information and employ physical, administrative, and technological safeguards designed to preserve the integrity and security of information collected through our website, customer service, including secure servers, firewalls, and encryption where possible.

We will store personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which we collect the personal information, in accordance with our legal obligations and the performance of contracts. In general, information on performed business transactions are archived (and access protected) after 3 years and deleted once statutory retention requirements expire. For example, national commercial or financial codes may require us to retain information for up to 10 years.


Children’s privacy

We do not knowingly collect or solicit any information from anyone under the age of 16. In the event that we learn we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under age 16, we will delete that information.
